Create Content That Answers Your Customer's Biggest Questions

Written by Dave Perlman | Jul 22, 2026 12:30:01 PM

One of the best pieces of marketing advice I can give is this: stop trying to guess what your audience wants to see, and start answering the questions they're already asking!

Whether someone is visiting your website, scrolling through social media, or comparing businesses online, they're looking for information that helps them make a decision. When your content answers those questions clearly and authentically, you're not just creating posts - you're building trust.

That's one of the biggest reasons I encourage businesses to create educational content alongside their promotional content. It positions you as a helpful resource and gives potential customers confidence before they ever reach out!

Start With the Questions You Hear Every Day

Think about the questions customers ask during phone calls, consultations, emails, or meetings. Maybe they want to know how your process works, how long a project takes, what sets you apart, or what they should expect before working with you. Those questions can become blog posts, social media videos, FAQs, or short educational reels.

Not only does this help your audience, but it also saves you time by answering common questions before they're even asked. It's one of the simplest ways to create meaningful content while improving your website's SEO and increasing your visibility in search results.

Educate First, Sell Second

One thing I've learned over the years is that people don't like feeling like they're being sold to, but they do appreciate learning something new.

The businesses that consistently stand out are the ones that share their knowledge freely. Educational videos, customer testimonials, behind-the-scenes content, and frequently asked questions all help establish credibility while naturally showcasing your expertise. By focusing on helping first, you create content that people are more likely to engage with, share, and remember.

That's also why I always recommend thinking beyond a single piece of content. One customer question can become a blog, a short social media video, a carousel post, an email newsletter, and even part of your website's FAQ section. Repurposing content like this helps you get more value from every idea while keeping your marketing consistent.

The Bottom Line

Great marketing doesn't always start with a big campaign. It often starts with a simple question.

When you consistently create content that answers your customers' biggest questions, you're doing more than improving your SEO. You're building trust, demonstrating your expertise, and making it easier for people to choose your business when they're ready to take the next step.

If you're not sure where to begin, start by writing down the five questions you hear most often. Chances are, you've already got your next five pieces of content.
